Information for Au Pairs

If you want to find an au pair placement, registering with Osborne Au Pairs to find a family is easy! Remember, we will call you once we have received your completed form to make sure you are happy with the process.

Please read the procedure below before completing our registration form.

 Register Free - We offer you:

  • placement with a family we have personal contact with
  • minimum £70 per week for 25 hours childcare and light housework 
  • own room with t.v. and internet access in the house 
  • letter of invitation from the family with all the agreed conditions between you and the family 
  • one week's paid holiday every 6 months of placement 
  • access to au pair friends website to meet other au pairs in your area 
  • free link to excellent English Language Course on internet 
  • discounts on UK coach tours 
  • our advice and support throughout your au pair placement
  • an agency/family reference on completion of your placement

We ask that you...

  • ... have a love of children 
  • ... have a committment to basic childcare 
  • ... are reliable and responsible 
  • ... are willing to help with light household duties
  • ... wish to improve your English Language skills 
  • ... would love to experience life in the UK 
  • ... can provide requested documents 
  • ... pay for your return travel to the UK

Eligibility and Visa Information

  • Applicants from 27 EEC countries may apply without a visa 
  • Applicants from Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey may apply - you will need a visa from your country of origin before you travel 
  • Applicants from past Commonwealth countries and Australia, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand may apply on a working and travelling visa 
  • Applicants on student visas may apply

What an Au Pair needs to provide

Please read the au pair guidelines for the UK. Registration is a simple and easy process. If you have any questions, please contact us.

WE NEVER RELEASE YOUR CONTACT DETAILS TO ANYONE WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION

Step 1 - fill in the application form online

Step 2 - we will send you a welcome email confirming your registration

Step 3 - please then email (or fax on +44 (0)1608 638 022) us the following:

          •  a 'head and shoulders' photo of yourself, happy and smiling
          • your references

            - either 2 childcare references or 1 childcare and 1 character reference - neither from your own family)

            - if you do not already have references, please download our reference form
          • a copy of your passport
          • any other photos of yourself, especially those with children
          • your medical certificate (you may send this later)

Step 4 - when a family is interested, we contact you and send you their details. Some families may request a police check. Please be prepared to provide this

Step 5 - we then arrange a telephone meeting. If both you and the family are happy with the placement, the family will send you a letter of invitation

Step 6 - we will notify you to book your travel
